Hearing loss is a decrease in hearing sensitivity due to congenital or later problems. Hearing impairment is the condition of inadequacies caused by the decrease in hearing sensitivity in the individual.
Properties
Starting from birth, the individual learns a lot of information using his hearing. Thus, he constantly hears the speeches of hearing and other individuals around him, connects these voices with the events that occur at that moment and makes sense of these voices. The hearing-impaired individual, on the other hand, is at the most suitable age to learn due to hearing deprivation, misses the opportunity to learn speech and language and has problems with both understanding and speaking skills. Depending on speech and language problems, they also have difficulties in cognitive, motor coordination, emotional-social, educational, professional and social fields.
Hearing::
The ability to hear depends on the sound, the sound reaching the ear, the sound being within the limits that the human ear can take, the sound reaching the centre-brain through the outer, middle and inner ear sections called the hearing pathway, and being perceived in the centre. Therefore, they cannot hear some speech sounds, they confuse some. They have difficulty understanding what is being said depending on the distance between them and the talker, the characteristics of the voice of the spoken person such as violence and tone, whether there is noise in the background.
Language and Speech:
Hearing impaired individuals make a lot of sound errors depending on the type, degree and shape of hearing loss. This affects the understandability of their speech. In environments with sound stimuli, hearing inputs and re transmissions provided by hearing impaired individuals from them and their surroundings are more limited than for individuals who hear. This affects their ability to organize their environment of sound stimuli. Hearing-impaired individuals get the meaning, voice information, form unit, syntax components of the language in the same order and within the rules but delayed, as do individuals who hear the syntax components. The function of language for a certain purpose in the social context and its use in accordance with the purpose of communication are severely limited. Writing what is said due to inadequate hearing and language skills; they have difficulty expressing their feelings and thoughts in writing. Limited voca9ths, delays in gaining linguistic structures, and inadequacies in knowledge level cause hearing-impaired individuals to have difficulty learning to read and understanding what they are reading. In addition, hearing impaired individuals have difficulty regulating their thoughts and expressing them in a proper order.

Motor-Coordination ::
Individuals with hearing impaired disabilities follow the stages of development of individuals who are hearing in gaining motor skills such as sitting, standing up unaided, walking. However, the biggest problem observed in motor development is seen in movements that require general body coordination and balance. In addition, they may have difficulty in some skills that require visual motor coordination.
Emotional-Social::
Inadequate hearing and language skills of people with hearing impaired disabilities prevent inter-person communication and create some difficulties in learning attitudes and roles related to social life. The failure of their experience in learning leads to a lack of motivation in the individual, which negatively affects the individual's learning of social relationships and success in academic skills.
